The benefits of writing about traumatic, stressful or emotional events has been found to result in improvements in both physical and psychological health, both in non-clinical population and in people battling terminal or life-threatening diseases.

While the exact mechanism by which expressive writing brings health benefits is not clear yet, there is abundance of evidence that expressive writing results in significant improvements in longer-term physical health outcomes: blood pressure, lung function, liver function, decrease of illness-related visits to the doctor and number of days in hospital. Expressive writing also produces significant benefits in immune system functioning.

There is one rule to make this work: once you begin writing, you continue for 15-20 min. Forget about spelling and grammar.
Make expressive writting your daily routine and share with us your experience.
